Chris Brown is leaving 2 million followers behind by making his Instagram account private months after quitting and revamping his Twitter page. He decided to let his fans know about his decision to detach himself from social media yesterday, 29th January 2013, after being ruthless bashed online for comparing himself to Jesus in the wake of his fist fight with Frank Ocean. Chris posted the photo yesterday after he was criticized for fighting Ocean. He felt he was being crucified and judged like Jesus.
Brown left one final message for Team Breezy thanking them for their love and support.
"I would like to thank all my wonderful fans for letting me express my talents/art for you all."
"Social media takes away the essence of why we are even special or icons," Brown wrote to fans on his Instagram account. "So with that, I'm detaching myself from that world."
Some took to Twitter to react to the singer's big news.
One person did not seem surprised that Brown decided to detach himself by changing his approach to using social media.
"Is it really breaking news that Chris Brown quits (Instagram)...doesn't he quit every other week," the person questioned. Another person expressed disappointment in Brown's decision;
"I'm sad. @chrisbrown is the whole reason i got a twitter and an Instagram & now he's gone from both," the person tweeted.
Although Brown's Twitter account is still active, no personal messages have been written on the social networking website since November, when he let the world know that he would stop using it.
All of the messages posted on his Twitter account are either written by his staff or others who tweet about his appearances, charities and other promotions.
